Keep Unwanted SMS Away

Etisalat are committed to keeping their customers up to date with the latest offers and best deals. Customers who are happy with their current package can now opt out of receiving promotional SMS’ thanks to an innovative solution from Etisalat.

We have listened to our customers and worked with the TRA (Telecoms Regulatory Authority) and can now offer you a convenient option to stop receiving promotional marketing SMS’. All you need do is send an SMS to 1011 saying “b etisalat” to stop receiving them. If you want to start receiving the SMS’ again you can text “ub etisalat” to 1011.

When asked Khalifa Al Shamsi, Etisalat’s Senior Vice President of Marketing said, “Etisalat has always been extremely attentive towards the needs of its valued customers and it is our responsibility to ensure them maximum flexibility in the way they use and enjoy Etisalat services.

  3. I guess I wasn't clear with my question, sorry. I meant to ask whether this feature would work with blocking non-promotional SMS's as well. I.e. "b 050 xxxxxxx"

  6. How can we opt out of receiving all promotional SMS from nightclubs, malls, etc.

    The bulk of my SMS spam comes from these sources and there is simply no way to stop them.

  7. @Omar Bin Yaroof and @simwhatley: try sending the SMS to 1011 instead of 1010, this should solve the problem.

    @Yousef: Unfortunately there is no way to block SMS' from specific senders at the moment.

    I wanted to know if there are any special offers for travellers. I am working now in italy now and i have and Etisalat number.Are there a special tariffs for sending sms to my friends in UAE?

  11. 1011 can only block Etisalat Ads ,when will we be able to block third party messages? this SPAM is killing us! ,i am surprised that Etisalat is still NOT able to implement such a solution!
