Up to 40% back when you talk more with Etisalat Wasel prepaid

Sharing the joy of Eid Al Adha, we have a special free credit back offer for Wasel prepaid customers starting today (15 November 2010) for three months. This value-packed offer rewards you for simply making calls and gives you back a higher value of extra credit each time you talk from your Wasel prepaid account. As part of the new promotion, you can get back up to AED 240.

If you are a Wasel customer and you make local or international phone calls any time during the day then you are eligible for the offer. Depending on the usage, you can receive up to 40% of the used talk time, the bonus value is then credited back into your account as soon as you cross the set usage limits within a month. Usage is calculated on a monthly basis every 30 days starting from the 1st day of the promotion. The free credit can be used for making both local as well as international voice calls and for sending text messages within the validity period.

The promotion will also soon be extended to postpaid customers too.
If you are a Wasel prepaid customer you can opt in by simply sending an SMS with the character U to 1010, and join the promotion without any monthly rental or connection fee. For your convenience We will notify you via SMS every time you receive your bonus credit. In addition, you can check your free talk time balance by calling *121*2# and you can check your accumulated usage by calling *144*4#.

  2. Can you explain for me how does this service work? I mean how can we use the free credit and why does it have a valid period? I just don't understand,I subscribed to it but cannot use it.Please help me.

  3. When you subscribe you will receive an SMS message everytime you make a call that earns you bonus credit. This will happen after you have made AED 30 worth of calls in that month.

Your bonus credits last 3 or 10 days depending on your call usage. The extra credit will be available for you to use during that time.

  4. How can I unsubscribe for the service? I find the sms message annoying every time I make a call. It will be ok though if the sms message will not appear. Thanks.

  8. I find the messages after every call or SMS really annoying. Is there a way to turn those off?

I think it's sufficient to just notify me once when I get the free credit.

  9. Etisalat does not explain when exactly your free credit is available to use. As long as you have balance in your account this free credit remains accumulated and gets expired in 3 to 10 days. The whole thing looks like a scam.

  10. I want to know how to unsubscribe too

  13. If I subscribe to this promo (SEND U to 1010), will the local & international call and sms charge/rate be the same as normal? I have noticed that even if I call during off peak hours, the international rate is calculated as peak hour.

  14. It is very much like a scam...have more than 75 dirhams and can't use and when you ask you can't get a clear answer...scandalous

  20. There is a validity period for the bonus amount!
    This is not fair!

  21. What a waste of time. First of all, messages are annoying. more than that no clarity on bonus service. I saw one reply from Etisalt on this. after that he disappeared. I think he understood that estilat is cheating thier customers with fake promotions

  22. Please tell us how to unsubscibed with this annoying promo, I do experience the same, the off peak hours should be 1.40aed but since i joined with this promo they charged me 2.40 aed per minute when i call to Philippines. I will shift to DU if you will not going to tell us how to Unsubcribed with this!

  23. The "FREE CREDIT" can only be used once your main credit available is mere 3 dirhams!

So, if your available credit is a lot more than 3 dirhams, then never expect to be able to use the so called "FREE CREDIT" as it will expire within few days, not even a week!

Another so called "promotion" from Etisalat!! This is deceiving!

Read the fine print at http://www.etisalat.ae/index.jsp?lang=en&type=content&currentid=91cd0df50ae7b010VgnVCM1000000c24a8c0____&contentid=720bd346ab84c210VgnVCM1000000c24a8c0RCRD&parentid=91cd0df50ae7b010VgnVCM1000000c24a8c0____ which says:

5- The charges will be deducted first from your main account till your credit balance reaches AED 3, then it will be deducted from the free credit granted to you.

  24. How can I unsubscribe????...this looks like a scam...you can't even checked how much balance you have...Can't even transfer load...I find it also annoying!

  25. I am tired of this latest scam from Etisalat! I have over 21 aed of free credit I can not use! I have let my credit run out to see if that would activate the free credit and it just tells me that I can not make any calls because I do not have enough credit in my account. What a RIP OFF!!! And I thought DU was bad! I have changed my mind they are the same! They both rip off their customers! Now we know how they get so rich!

Where are your updates?!?! You just left your customers hanging?!?!?! You are cheating and stealing from them! You charge the normal rate during off-peak hours?!?! you never mentioned this nor put a disclaimer!!!

    Ahmed

  27. correct i also agree ..etisalt is cheating by just prometing false offer.
please etisalt wake up..its high time to wake up

  28. how come Etisalat never answered how to use the free credit???

    ReplyDelete
  29. Someone mentioned earlier that it only works after your balance falls below AED 3. I just tried it out and it works. So you will only be able to use Etisalat free credit after your balance falls below AED3.

If you really want to work around this rule, you might be able to transfer your credit to a friend and have them transfer it back to you.

  34. Hello Anonymous:

In general your Wasel prepaid sim card needs to be renewed every year. This can be hard to arrange from outside the UAE. If you are able to receive SMS messages we always suggest customers sign up for online services. Makes managing your account so much easier.

It is easier for us to answer question like this on twitter. You can find us at www.twitter.com/EtisalatUAE

    Many thanks

    @EtisalatUAE
